This is Centreville, a tiny fishing village on Digby Neck, a long finger of land that separates St. Mary's Bay from the Bay of Fundy in south western Nova Scotia. Here, among the fishing wharves, weathered huts, colourful fishing boats and spectacular scenery is a vacation opportunity few will experience. Oceanfront Retreats offers a vacation rental with a difference. The monthly/weekly fee not only includes the house rental, but complete access to the surrounding 40 acres of land. Part of the property includes a rugged, piece of coastline known as Upper Point, that juts into the Bay of Fundy. The panoramic view of the active harbour and rugged coastline from the point is nothing short of breathtaking. It is the ideal, private place for a lobster cookout or to simply watch the waves crash along the shore. It is noteworthy that a lobster pound is actually located within the property compound. The house has an older section built in 1869 and a newer section built 100 years later. There is a large kitchen, living room, sitting room, laundry room with washer and dryer, five bedrooms with two and one half baths and a small garage or outbuilding. The floors in the older section of the house have been sanded down to reflect the original wide board finish, while new hardwood floors have been installed in the newer section. Most of the furniture in the house is new.
